Newcastle University is known for its multicultural community, with its vibrant mix of beliefs, faiths and cultures. The University has students from over 130 countries, making it a diverse and inclusive place to study.
The University provides a number of spaces for prayer and reflection on campus to serve its community. With the Business School being a short walk from the main campus, we wanted to ensure there is adequate space for our students on this side of the city.
Through our student-staff committee, as well as conversations with staff and our Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, we discussed creating a new prayer space at the Business School.
As a result of these conversations, NUBS 3.08 has been converted into a dual-use space which can be used for quiet study or for prayer, meditation and quiet reflection.
Take a look at this handy map to view all of the prayer, quiet and wellbeing spaces on campus.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or looking for somewhere to pray or meditate, we welcome you to visit one of our spaces on campus.
